Humankind consumes food for survival, pleasure and nutrition. Food and beverages give nutrients important for growth, development and maintenance. Choosing nutrient-rich foods is a positive and realistic way to think about eating and focuses on enjoying food instead of avoiding it. Through this course module food groups and their nutrient composition and effects of food processing on nutrients will be learnt by the undergraduates. Additionally updates on food and nutrition also included in the course work. To provide both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure students will be asked to do a market survey and organize a mini exhibition of a novel product display.
